Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County is driven by the desire to give tangible

expression to the love of God through the work of eliminating poverty housing.  But, the love

must not be in words only – it must be true love, which shows itself in action.

 

A partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County provides an opportunity for you and

your congregation to put your faith and love into action.  A Faith Partnership is so much more than

building homes – it is about tearing down walls and the opportunity to fellowship with diverse

groups of people.  It is about serving God by serving others.

Many churches begin their partnership with Habitat for Humanity out of a desire to

help other people.  They are delighted to discover how working with Habitat for Humanity

benefits them.  Being a Habitat for Humanity partner:

 

• Allows a church to participate in a ministry of service that has a beginning and an end

• Builds community within the congregation and among all who work on a Habitat project

• Provides church members with a tangible opportunity to put faith into action

• Communicates the message of being a caring and compassionate congregation called to action

 

 

Faith Partnership Opportunities:

Pray

You can pray for families in need of safe, decent shelter and for the ministry of Habitat for Humanity.

International Day of Prayer

Plan a special offering or setting aside a worship service to pray about

how the faith community can respond to the need for affordable housing in our community.

 

 

Build

Congregation members and church staff can volunteer on the construction of Habitat homes.

 

 

Building on Faith

Each year, for one week in September, Habitat for Humanity affiliates around

the world proclaim the love and power of Jesus Christ by joining with partner churches to

build homes with families in need.  Building on Faith week is an opportunity for people of God to

put their faith and love into action.

Raise Awareness

Host speakers to discuss local housing issues and raise awareness

for the need for affordable housing in Palm Beach County.

 

 

Raise Funds

A congregation can sponsor a house individually or join with

another congregation to sponsor and build a house together.
